Boss Mobs are usually the same size as a normal mob of their type (except for slimes...) you can tell if it is a boss by their color, they also have a name shown in their health bar above their head. That bar is also colored. Along with more health, they are much more strong, leaving a good size dent in the player.

Characteristics

Boss Mobs are usually the same size as the normal mob of their type (except for slimes). Bosses can be distinguished by color, and they also have a unique name displayed in their health bar, which color corresponds to the color of the mob.
